caine440 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 Hi Guys I am looking for information and photos of the 1961 Dodge the Ramchargers raced. Thanks!
AMT Pacemakers Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 I spent nearly a week looking for stuff on this car, not much but the pic you have, it seems to be overshadowed by the other Ramcharger cars. I keep an eye out... Robert
whale392 Posted May 23, 2010 Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) Maybe the Walter P. Chrysler Museum archives? Edited May 23, 2010 by whale392
caine440 Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 Never thought of the museum. I did the same thing and used the normal searches and came up with only this photo.
Ramcharger Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 '61 Dodge Phoenix, white exterior, red interior, 413 cross ram automatic trans, Red and black lettering on the car (similar to the "62 car). Basically a stock '61 Dodge. Not many photos of this car because it was 1961 and the Ramchargers were just getting started. I'll see if I have any more photos than the ones you have when I get home. I doubt it though, they are rare as hens teeth.
jjsipes Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 For anybody that is into the Ramchargers or drag racing you need to purchase this book. It is a great read. Has some great pics as well. Here is a couple of engine shots of the car in the book. Here is another pic of the side of the car
caine440 Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 I want to thank everyone for their help with this. Just ordered the book from amazon. Thanks Again!
caine440 Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 I bought the book and WOW what a wealth of information. I was a modified long ram 413 but not an automatic but a 3 speed with a homemade floor shifter. Lots of great info on the building of the car but not the interior color. It does not look dark enough tin the black and white photos to be red. Thanks for all the info and help guys.
oldscool Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Old black and white film prints can be misleading as they can make yellow look like a dark color and dark colors look light. I think it was called orthochromatic film that had this effect. Just saying that it could still be red. oldscool
