Monty Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I've got a concept in mind, but I'd rather not spend the money on the paint unless I can be sure the White Lightning will provide enough of a reflective background/base for the candy. I'm trying to avoid that "I shot candy over white styrene" look. If you've shot a candy over White Lightning, I'd appreciate your comments, pics etc.
Kaleb Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Im not too sure on doing that just my opinion it would be like shooting a metallic styrene. All candies ive seen were over silver gold or copper. Silve may be your best if your getting close to white.
Tradeshowjoe Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 I just went to the Testors site to look at the 'white Lightning". I would say you should have no problem shooting over it. I recently shot some candy on top of a silver that I wasn't impressed with. I thought the silver wasn't metal flake enough, the candy picked up what was there and really magnified it. I have used other colors in the Testors one coat lacquer line and I believe you will have plenty of metal flake to set off the candy (that is if the "WL" is anything like the other colors).
