I've got a concept in mind, but I'd rather not spend the money on the paint unless I can be sure the White Lightning will provide enough of a reflective background/base for the candy. I'm trying to avoid that "I shot candy over white styrene" look.

If you've shot a candy over White Lightning, I'd appreciate your comments, pics etc.

Im not too sure on doing that just my opinion it would be like shooting a metallic styrene. All candies ive seen were over silver gold or copper. Silve may be your best if your getting close to white.

I just went to the Testors site to look at the 'white Lightning". I would say you should have no problem shooting over it. I recently shot some candy on top of a silver that I wasn't impressed with. I thought the silver wasn't metal flake enough, the candy picked up what was there and really magnified it. I have used other colors in the Testors one coat lacquer line and I believe you will have plenty of metal flake to set off the candy (that is if the "WL" is anything like the other colors).
