toplessfury Posted June 4, 2010 Author Posted June 4, 2010 my next truck i want to extend the sleeper, not as long as yours but maybe 2-3" here it is with a fender that i tried to make from aluminum sheet
highway Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 thanks man that truck is wicked.where did you get the plastic sheets to make your sleeper? I got the sheet from the hobby shop, I believe it was Plastruct gray ABS .030 sheet. Only the middle section is sheet, the front and back is the stock kit sleeper. Here's an early in progress pic of it. I also built a frame inside the roof to try to keep the arched shape of the original roof, but it still took a lot of Bondo and sanding to get it just right. I also built a simple frame from Evergreen tubing that is hidden inside to add some strength to everything. If you have a decent hobby shop nearby, you should find the Evergreen plastic, both tubing and sheet, with no problem.
