Harold Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Here's one of my favorite models (and one of my favorite kits). I built this one eight years ago, and after several moves over the years, it was starting to look a little rough around the edges. I partially disassembled it, and polished out the cab and box with some Turtle Wax polishing compound (it's clearcoat safe), followed by some Black Magic wax. This is one of the last ones I painted with Testor's enamels- Arctic Blue Metallic over Aluminum Metallizer and several coats of Testor's clear gloss. Man, did that polishing compound work wonders. Also, after eight years, I added all the underhood decals and the side mirrors. Looks like it's ready for another eight years. This has to be one of the best OOB engine compartments ever kitted
Wayne Buck Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 That is beautiful, Harold! The paint looks great on it!
Duntov Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Hey Harold: This is a nice build up of an older truck......I remember when one of the magazines did a comparison of AMT-Revell_Lindberg trucks if I haveit correct.....(I even have the magazine tucked away someplace....)......you really hit the nail on the head with this version......thanks for showing this one to us.....VERY WELL DONE!!!! Regards Bill Duntov)

Steve Keck Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Nice resurrection! I didn't realize the kit had poseable steering.
Harold Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 Nice resurrection! I didn't realize the kit had poseable steering. It doesn't. It does, however, have separate spindles and control arms. I just attacked everything with a #62 drill bit and some straight pins.
geckoman1220 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 nice clean simple truck, the paint looks really shinny.
