stump Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Guys, this is ALL just purely hypothetical........ I was at our Aussie version of the WinterNats over the weekend, and one of the vendors on site had some 1/16 Funny cars...... Eye popping detail.....but diecast..... Not wishing to put die-cast down, but I still prefer the challenge of building.. The vendor mentioned that they were OOP and no more were being produced.....?? Not sure how accurate that may be..... BUT.................. With Revell gaining a bit more momentum with re-issues and such....Do you think there is any chance we may see some NEW Drag kits produced in the foreseeable future....??? I'm thinking BIG here......( I know, it's a BIG ask............. ) I would love to see some headway start with Pro Stock. In 1/16 or better still......1/12............???? I'm not sure which would be the most popular Class in the U.S. but I am a huge fan of P/Stock..... and would pay what ever $ the manufacturers decided they would be worth....NO questions asked. In the mean time......I'll just continue to dream........one day I'll snap out of it I guess......OR, have a go at making my own....................... Your thoughts, fore, against.......all welcome..... You never know, if we wish loud enough, someone important may realise our dreams......some day.

As i am only in my late 20s most of the old kits produced by revell were way before my time. Soon after i got into drag racing i bought my first kit and and then couldnt stop - some 40-50 kits awaiting construction. I really like my old nostalgic kits from the 70s etc as my dad had these when he was kid. I would love to see an up to date modern top fuel dragster in 1/16th as a plastic kit. I have 2 1/16th die cast models by milestone productions, these are highly detailed and i cant falt them but as stated it would be event better if there was a plastic kit. I crew for a top fuel team here in the UK i have been ask to build a model of race car, trouble is its very hard to try and make a 15yr old TFD look like a 2010 version in 1/24th as detailing parts are hard to come by in the UK. So fingers crossed hopefully revell will produce some modern race cars in larger scales
