mannyclub Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 (edited) Hello all, Well I started this about 2yrs ago an im going to get back at it. I had to change a couple things like the lower front bumper section. Foglights were different and make the correct side scoops. Im also working on the hood. (my 1:1 has a scoop just have to get another one) I did the body work an paint on my real car along with the air-brush flames. Hopefully I can keep on this project now. Thanks for looking.. whale392 Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Looking good so far. I look forward to seeing this one finished. As I see it, Revell-o-Gram is missing the boat by not offering up a New Edge (1999-2004) Mustang GT variant being that there are so many of the real car out there. Besides, they could also do the Bullitt, Mach 1, other special models from the same base.
Romell R Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 This is goona be a nice project Manny your 1:1 is very nice also keep up the good work on both.
pharr7226 Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Beautiful true fire on your 1:1. I'm looking forward to seeing work on the model.
mannyclub Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 Thanks guys! Soon as I get the body work done and a few other changes I can get her in primer. Engine will be wired up etc. Gonna have to scratchbuild the fuelrails, 8 coils and the fuel injection set up. Will be fun for sure! I agree they should of made those other years as well!! Romell, after seeing you build your car it inspired me to finish mine! After I finish this car gonna get back goin on my pro-mod dart.. Manny
modelhut Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 What great project. The paint on your 1:1 is beautiful. I love real-fire flames on anything, from cars and trucks to motorcycles and boats. Can you take progress pictures of your painting the front-end? This would be such a help to those of us that are interested in doing the same thing. Thanks, Rod.
mannyclub Posted June 21, 2010 Author Posted June 21, 2010 Thanks Rod, I am working on another tutorial in print and a cd rom with video clips etc. I lost the one I had on a hard drive crapped out. Manny
mannyclub Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Hello modelers! Just finished the body work and shot with some primer. The new lower half of the front bumper is done. Waiting for a new hood now from Dave. once I get the hood, I will make it like mine, then will be ready for the base coat so I can air brush the flames on. Going to work on the engine and interior now. Update soon! Thanks for looking. Manny
FordWagonNut Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Very cool! I am doing the same for my '04 in black......its a project that always seems to get placed on the back burner.
mannyclub Posted July 8, 2010 Author Posted July 8, 2010 Thanks Jonny! Any pics of your project? I know what you mean though lol Manny
FordWagonNut Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Thanks Jonny! Any pics of your project? I know what you mean though lol Manny I started in '04 when I was in college. I bought mine brand new but mine is a V-6 with a Pony Package (makes it look GTish). I used the hood scoop off a AMT '69 Mercury Cougar, the V-6 block out of a mid '90s AMT Ranger, the Cobra wheels off a '94 AMT Mustang, and the solid rear axle out of a '94 Monogram Mustang GT, along with the rear spoiler. Looks like you grafted the correct front lower bumper with the correct fog lamp set up. That is what has been holding me back. I don't see my skills to that level yet. Besides, my '04 is black also, so any of my mistakes would show up pretty clear. I will see if I have any pictures, if not, take a few, and post some on here.

I belive I am using the same hood scoop from the Cougar. I used a razor saw to remove the lower half of the bumper. Not hard at all im sure you can do it. That would be cool to see your WIP project bro. Manny

mannyclub Posted July 10, 2010 Author Posted July 10, 2010 Thanks Brad. I think it was from a 94. Hey Terror, thanks man, yea your not that far I used to live in Cdga. Manny
Jon Cole Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Woo-ha! True flames! It's one thing to do them in scale, but something else to do 1:1 flames! Bravo!
mannyclub Posted February 21, 2011 Author Posted February 21, 2011 Thanks Jon! Well finally had some time to work on the Mustang. Heres a mock up before I paint and flame it sometime this week or weekend. Manny
mannyclub Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 Hey everyone, well im back working on this again. I wanted to change the hood to look more like mine. I used sheet plastic to build up the hood, not only to make it look more like the 1:1 but also so the hood scoop would look right. I think it looks ok so far. I still have to finish the engine and interior first, then I will paint and do the flames on her. I was going to detail this model but just decided to build it mostly box stock. Thanks for looking Manny
