Mr mopar Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Hi Just to let eveyone know, Italeri has changed the rear wheels in this kit, the hubs are smaller and there is 8 small holes, and 2 larger holes making these wheels useless and ugly looking.
Sergey Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 This is sucks! Thank you for information, Mr.mopar.
eagle2159 Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 hello from France to you all. On a German site of model, you can admire the model of the truck at Italeri Freightliner. http://www.wettringer-modellbauforum.de/forum/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=2810350e1283d

Ben Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Looking at those pics from that German forum, if that truck was built box stock, Italeri changed all the wheels from the original including the front wheels.
Mr mopar Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Looking at those pics from that German forum, if that truck was built box stock, Italeri changed all the wheels from the original including the front wheels. Hey Ben you are right italeri did changed the front ones two!
Ben Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I'm not complaining. I saw in an earlier post in this thread that Italeri changed the rear wheels. I was just stating that they changed the front wheels too. I actually think it looks much better with these new wheels!
Ben Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 You know me, i'm not going to complain about wheels! There hasn't been a kit yet that I wouldn't replace the wheels with some that I made! I hope the Lonestar changes that!

I hope the Lonestar changes that! I hear ya! I generally keep the front wheels and replace the drive wheels with something more accurate.
Ben Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I hear ya! I generally keep the front wheels and replace the drive wheels with something more accurate. You mean like this...
SpreadAxle Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Norm Weeber of Re picas and Miniatures of Maryland offered some rally nice photo etched items exclusively for this kit. They were the correct 1980s Freightliner badges for the hood and grill and mud flap weights. Auslowe offered some nice slotted muffler guards that were correct for Freightliner. Many be he can reissue them. I had a set of those badges but I'll be darned i I could find where I hid them. They were really nice. I should've bought a ew sets, but when i bought mine, the FLC was already a hard to find kit. The item # was RM-32(well, I'm sure about the 32 anyway). Nice set. I like the pic of the build from the other forum. Nice job by whoever built it.
Mr mopar Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Those are nice wheels Ben, I got me a set comming from Jamie, Then this Freightliner will look Awesome!
