....... one of the greatest cars to come out of my home state of Texas in the mid-60's was the '66 GTO match race "funny Car" of Don Gay ......... sponsored by Gay Pontiac in Dickinson, Texas and with nitro burning Pontiac engines built by James O'Steen, this car was a crowd pleaser wherever it went

The model combines a Competition Resins body sitting on a highly modified Rat Packer chassis ....... paint by Cobracolors and decals from SLIXX

Outstanding!

I love the look and really love the time period these cars raced.

I am reading the Ramchargers book and it is a great time machine back to those days with in site that really brings it to life.

Another great build my friend!

Hi O. C.

Build looks just awesome, for what it is worth, Gay Pontiac is still there, right down the road from me. They, along with "Artie the Farmer" did some really cool cars in that era, my favorite time and style of racing.....altereds, gassers, and floppers....the best. Great job on your builds, really enjoy them a lot, thatnk you very much for posting!!

Yup, just a few miles from me too, although now they're Gay Buick GMC, and I think there's a Kia dealership over there now too. Gotta pay the bills somehow. I went in there one day a few years ago, and they have some memorabilia in there, like photos and a couple of driving suits and helmets. No vintage racecars though, at least not then.

Your build looks great, as I've come to expect when opening one of your threads.
