crispy Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Took it to a local contest today (pics later of that one) and took third with it. I decided to just have fun with it and it came out pretty nice. Fujimi Ferrari 599 GTB. Fujimi 20" BBS wheels stripped and sprayed ts-26 Tamiya semi-gloss black. Body is finished in Zero Paints Rosso Fiorano. Topped with Tamiya TS-13 clear. Interior is basic red and black with flocking. Photo etch throughout. A couple of pics with more at MY FOTKI: Chris
Peter Lombardo Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 Congrat's on third place. She sure looks mean with the black wheels. Very nicely done. It just looks "fast".
vizio93 Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 That 599 looks beautiful dude, and I love the black wheels too
Harry P. Posted June 27, 2010 Posted June 27, 2010 If that only took third in a local contest, you must have had some stiff competition...
Karmodeler2 Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 If that only took third in a local contest, you must have had some stiff competition... I agree with Harry. I went to your site and checked it out along with some of your other builds. This Ferrari appears to be very clean and the paint looks very smooth and even in the pics. I know pics don't necessarily tell the whole story, but it looks pretty good to me (better than 3rd)!! And I have taken Best Paint at GSL and other shows, so I have a small amount of experience, and to me this Ferrari looks very nice!! David
crispy Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 Thanks for all the comments guys. I really do appreciate them. As was said in a thread on here, build for yourself and have fun. That's what I do. I build exotics mainly and the staple on the table's in my area are 70's and older style domestic stuff. I'm usually the only one with exotics. Most of them, as you all know, are curbside. Most of the time I get beaten out with anything that has a wired engine. I was very shocked to have placed anyway. The two builds that beat me were extremely nice. I never mind giving up first to really nice builds, but in the end I get to talk with guys I haven't seen since the last show and learn from them. I had a great time and always enjoy showing my newest build here and anywhere. Now, on to my Aston Martin! Chris
