slant6 Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I only get about 1 in 10 of these right, but, Im going with real. I think I can see a dent in the hood when I zoom in.
Harry P. Posted July 9, 2010 Author Posted July 9, 2010 Final vote: 37 REAL, 20 MODEl. Almost 2 to 1 for REAL. Wow, I really fooled you this time! It's a MODEL! Yes, another one of those incredible scratchbuilt, ultra-expensive 1/8 models. Better luck next time!
Stang67 Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 There goes the old average! Speaking of 'old' where's my glasses?
Brett Barrow Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Rainbow swirlies in the headlight covers: Etching in windows: I thought for sure this thing was real!!!!
horsepower Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 I went with model on this one because as hard as I looked, there was simply no lettering of any kind on the side walls of the tires, no manufacturer, model, directional arrows, nada, zip. This screamed model to me.
horsepower Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Rainbow swirlies in the headlight covers: Etching in windows: I thought for sure this thing was real!!!! swirlies in the headlights are easy, plastic covers are plastic in 1/8 scale or full size, & as for the window etching, even Revell makes decals of etched designs in 1/25 scale for their lowriders, would be much easier for 1/8 scale.
highway Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 as for the window etching, even Revell makes decals of etched designs in 1/25 scale for their lowriders, would be much easier for 1/8 scale. The only window etching I've ever seen in Revell kits is DECORATIVE etchings, not ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT safety glass info!

Romell R Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Something about the way the door doesn't line up with the rear quarter window glass, plus rumpled texture on the floor shadow, tells me this is a model. this model is a very good representation of the real car (which sits in my garage) the the door does look like this on the 1:1 and the ripples on the floor could have been a tarp laid down for the photoshoot. but this is a very well executed model.
Harry P. Posted July 10, 2010 Author Posted July 10, 2010 ...cornering lamp color...easy peasy Different specs for different markets?
antsdadcal Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 I only get about 1 in 10 of these right, but, Im going with real. I think I can see a dent in the hood when I zoom in. That is what made me vote model a car like that would not have a dent or crease on hood
