Starliner Kustoms Posted July 8, 2010 Share Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) I built this car many years ago and finally dug it out. It is a replica of my fathers car which he still has to this day. Way before there was a resin cast of a 55 Ford my only option wast to convert a 56 Ford from AMT. I tried to capture as much detail as possible with the few supplies I had and knowledge to do such a project. I hope to take more photos of it once I fix my camera. I also plan on attempting this replica again but with better knowledge and a resin body. Unfortunatly it does not see the light of day often. Oh well. Anyway, here it is. Gotta tell your dad to break that sucker out more often....maybe thursday evening bring it down to the cruise night at the Windjammer at Misquamicut Beach? TJ and I are riding down on our Harleys that night. Doesn't look like the weather is going to be too good for Wednesday night on top of the garage at Mohegan Sun this week...sposed to rain tomorrow... impcon Posted July 14, 2010 Share Posted July 14, 2010 That is really such a pretty car.. both the 1:1 and your model. I like that soft blue and white.. ah but those were the days .. when ars had character and style - unlike most of what is built today. Possibly the reason that the new cars lack whatthe old ones had is they are designed not withthe heart, but with a compter. Machines are incapable of the warmth and love that a human being can out into a design, hence the "cookie cutter" body designs. I see nothing stylish or really nice about very many newer veicles and I'll take an old obe over a new one any day of the week. Had a new one and guess what - it broke down too, just like an old one. Terry Sumner Unfortunatly he hasn't had the car out in a few thousand years it seems. I'd like to buy it from him and enjoy it but he won't budge. Oh and maybe I will see you next week.
