Agent G Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Long ago I scored a great resin '62 Olds 4dr body. I have no idea who made it but I have an interior, dash, and seats. There is no steering wheel, glass and no under pinnings. I need to know what kit I can use for a chassis. It looks like a repop of a promo from long ago, but I want to freshen it up. Any suggestions? G
Danno Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Depends on which model of Oldsmobile it is. The Starfire rode on a 123" wheelbase and the 88 rode a 116" wheelbase. The '62 Buick Electra had a 123" wheelbase and the '62 Pontiac Catalina had a 120" wheelbase. So, if you've got a Starfire, it should fit nicely on the AMT Buick Electra which was rereleased a few years ago and should be plentiful on the swapmeet or eModelCars auction circuit.

Ok the Buick it is! That makes sense as I have a Catalina chassis and it is a tad short. Thank You Sir! Duh, Wayne G Edited August 10, 2010 by AgentG
Eric Stone Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 The Buick is currently on store shelves. I asked a lady at Hobby Lobby about the 62 Impala, and she pointed out that the 62 Buick was "brand new". (I didn't bother explaining reissues to her...)
