The Modeling Hermit Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Are there any resin casters that make a Peterbilt 320 cab. I'm going to be building a Waste Management tandem axle refuse truck, so what chassis would be appropriate for it?
MICHAEL COLE Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 the new pete from italeri will give you the frame and rear end. ask tim, he will know.
chuckyr Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Are there any resin casters that make a Peterbilt 320 cab. I'm going to be building a Waste Management tandem axle refuse truck, so what chassis would be appropriate for it? Nope. I'm pretty sure no one offered a Pete 320 resin cab. The closest would have been Model Truck and Fire Apparatus, which is now American Industrial Truck Models. They offered Mack M, MR and CCC Centurion resin cabs. AITM has not reissued those cabs since it was bought out from the previous owner. I would suggest you contact AITM and suggest they reissue those cabs. http://www.aitruckmodels.com/
mountaindewd Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Hey Doug, No Peterbilt 320 that I am aware of. Like Charles said, check with Dave at AITM. Also, you can check with this Dave as well. He has a Mack MC/MR cab listed. If I am not mistaken, he is a member here in addition to the other forums. He goes by Cargostar. 3rd cab down. http://modelsbydave.com/cabs.html This Mack is the most common FEL(front end loader) in the WM fleet. They are also used for some of their rearload trucks and I have seen them as rolloffs too, though, not with WM.
chuckyr Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Yea, you need to consulate Ahlborn about this. I'm looking on his web site and he scratch built one. He is one of the moderators on this board. I'm sure he will be chimming in about this soon enough. http://timstrucks.site.aplus.net/timpbcoe.htm
mackinac359 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I scratchbuilt this 320 a couple of years ago. My cab is out of proportion - too tall. It wasn't too difficult to build - if I had measurements instead of eyeballing photos I could have gotten the shape better. I haven't seen a 320 in resin. Tim
The Modeling Hermit Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Thanks everybody. I'm going to do some measuring and get some pictures; if it will ever stop raining long enough. Waste Management has just come in and asked me to build a model of one of their trucks.
