Mr. Moparman Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 (edited) Should they? Tell why in a comment. Here's the box art, Edited August 23, 2010 by '69 Charger Daytona
Mr. Moparman Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 (edited) Well can anybody tell me where I can get a correct 500 grille and body? P.S Ya can still answer to the Yes No question. I'd rather see Revell tool up a modified reissue of a 69 Charger 500 based on their great 69 Charger/Daytona tooling than yet another run of that long worn out 68-70 annual based MPC tooling. That ancient MPC tooling needs to be retired. It's worn out, & a lot of the once excellent, subtly engraved details are long gone. Well that to being that Revell's kits are way better than MPC's Edited August 23, 2010 by '69 Charger Daytona
spkgibson Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 That version by MPC is a decent kit,What I did was took the 1997 edition of the GL,And got the 500 parts from the person I got the GL In trade,That is the same exact car as both that and the 1990 Daytona kit,Sometimes those kits came with the 500 grill attatched to the chrome tree,If you find that kit,or have that kit with the grill just modify the revell 68/69 hood,And there is your 500,I have one of the AMT 1990 editions of the daytona with the 500 grill in it,and as soon as my resin hoods get here I'll be starting a wHope this helps!hite with red stripe combo,as far as the places to get the resin parts,Dencon Or The Modelhaus, they both make them,The Modelhaus also has the stock car grill and gutted interior to make a race car out of!
Mr. Moparman Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 Well I e-mailed both Revell and MPC about this kit and I am waiting for a reply.
Mr. Moparman Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 Was'nt there a resin site that had a conversion grill and hood to convert the 2009 AMT Daytona kit into a Charger 500? If so please post the link!
Mr. Moparman Posted August 26, 2010 Author Posted August 26, 2010 I recived a reply from Revell saying, "Thank You. We will pass this along to our Product Planning Team for reveiw and consideration."
Greg Myers Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 No. I already have some. I think a Revell version would be better.
