How can anyone make any sense of what's going on over there? It's total chaos... yet someone here said that it's easier to find stuff there as opposed to here???!!! ;) Huh??? It's like trying to find a book on a certain subject in a library where the books are shelved totally at random!

I have tried numerous times to understsnd the system over there! I guess it must be too simple for me or something!laugh.gif

After about 10 minutes I have a headache and have to get out of there! It's like being in a classroom full of kids all talking at the same time!blink.gif

I think the problem is that there is no "system"...

Like Harry said, it's just a bunch of conversation and commentary all jumbled together, and it's up to the Board-user to weed through it all to try and find what they are looking for.

If You're looking for just the models, the easiest thing to do is to just follow all of the "attaboys" and other comments that say:..."great job"...."nice work"...."looks sharp"........etc..etc..

Those fellas with the longest list of compliments and attaboys under the original post, are typically considered to be the "board super heros".

The folks with the fewest attaboys, are generally not part of the "regular family" and "circle of friends", and are given less attention no matter how great the model may be.

I've been on HH/SL off and on, for the past 6 years or so, and once you get used to the format they have over there, the patterns are very easy to spot. I could practically write a book on that forum, and all of it's crazy adventures.... :huh:B)ph34r.gif

Actually, there's a rather entertaining bit of history here ...

About 10 years ago, Mr. Lammers appeared on the then-Hobby Heaven board seeking assistance with Bare-Metal Foil. People genuinely tried to answer his questions and to help him _ one person even went so far as to offer to foil his model for him if he'd mail it to them.

His response was to berate everyone who tried to assist him and tell them they didn't know what the hell they were talking about. Bob Downie was one of the ones he yelled at, hence, that rather disturbing photo! :)

He's doing basically the same thing this time, except the topic is stripping paint.

LOL....Ken, and me like a jack ____ (insert noun) got sucked in. I forgot all about this fool until about 30 seconds after posting my adivce. That made me laugh even harder as I remembered all the "stuff" that went on with the BMF and other issues with this guy....

Threads like this one, where Mr. Carter accuses Mark Taylor of being this Randy Lammers idiot is one of the big reasons why I stay away from that board. When news this thread appeared in my inbox this morning, I posted something in my friend's defense. The thread was erased within minutes without comment.

This is why I believe that the Spotlight board is closing in on implosion. Attacks from without and nonsense like this from within don't bode well.

Your opinions on the Spotlight board are on the money. If he put half the effort into improving his board that he instead wastes goose-stepping his paranoia back and forth, it would be a miracle. The place resembles a disjointed police state where heaven (no pun intended) forbid a part may be traded, or a hobby store mentioned and all sorts of drama is stirred up. If it should implode, I hope I get to watch, bag of popcorn in hand.

>This isn't clutter.

am i to take it that is a question?

notice how questions are often followed by what is referred to as a "question mark"?

so to answer your (presumed) question yes it is clutter in a clutter topic. but funny clutter in a psycho clutter topic.

it just makes me wonder which is better, to have this psycho posting here, or to have people bringing their drama over here from somewhere else?

you're very welcome.
