this is one of 2 kits I got off eBay a a few years ago. Had to soak it cleaner fore a week then fill and sand the frame and cab, it was a glue BOMB!!!!need flap's and guard going with it will be the log trailer. I know the bumper is way too wide that was a goof up in the build. The first idea was a over the road truck that got side tracked. clayton

Hello Clayton

Turned out nice. I like the choice of colors and paint scheme.

From what I understand this truck is the result of using 2 build ups glue bombs.

Not sure if you saw my Road Boss build.

A similar situation. Started with a bad built up glue bomb and with my parts box made a decent model.

Good work on saving models. It is like a cat this time it got a second life.

Best regards Daniel Gailloux

I saved both of them the other I'm not ready to show and tell yet( oops I did) it was on truck modeler back in the fall,it's not done need lots of work.

On this one it started off as a road truck then I found a wood mill(Georgia Paper) that was still using the old trucks in the fleet. About 3 weeks later I mad a trip just for photos and see if I could get a paint code,to bad the mill close up for good and the trucks were sold off. The mill color was a lime green. Paint the model I found one on hanks site it was black and silver I just did not care for that so brown and gold it is.

Nice work, looks very smart in the colurs you have chosen. Is it true or just a rumour that AMT are going to re release the Road Boss again soon? I want one to go with my Road Commander....

I think they are, over the weekend I was looking on one of the hobby web sites that I use and the due date is around Nov/Dec(I think). I hope so would like to have a few more, with a little thinking these old kits don't look bad.

Nice work on the mirrors - much better than the kit pieces.

Tim

Thanks,I got the idea from you. it did not have any so I made them from wire and flat sheet,by using the 359 mirrors as a template (I winging it)

I am going to say thanks to every one for the great remarks and keep a eye out for the next one (coming soon).

OK,OK, here is a peak of whats coming up. The cab on the rite is the brown/gold.Both kits were dipped in cleaner, holes filled sanded, smoothed out the cabs from were a builder must have used a tube of glue on every thing.Even had to buff the one the glass inserts it was eat up with glue.

Good stuff, I really like the old Boss. I have been looking on e-bay for some time for one of these but none seem to come up for auction in Aust. I did buy an Aussie conversion kit in anticipation of the reissue kit although I do have an Italeri Western Star kit which I have been considering donating for the project as they share the same cab.

Was trying to add a new photo with better light but the file is too big. So think I may hold off on this one ans start a new toppick with the other Boss. how about that Maybe I'll have it done by weekend. GTG have a great day all.

I like the color choices and the angled light in the last photo. Your paint lines are also very crisp and clean.

I use Auto border line tape,(have too look it up).it's OK too use unless your making hard/sharp corners like on the hood it wont's too roll up and it has a little bit of memory too. I'm getting were I can use it with out it giving me a fit.

Now here is a peek at the up coming road Road Boss. The cab/frame on the right is what they both looked like after cleaning the old paint off and filling in the holes.
