Scalefinishes Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I got this kit because I needed the back seat out of it. The paint is actually the third paint job on the car, but my first attempt at flames. I think it looks like something built in the mid eighties. Hosted on Fotki Thanks for looking.
DRG Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Your first attempt at flaming looks better than mine did. Keep at it and you'll be fine. Nice model I like it.
59-Desoto Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Hey not bad , love the old school touch the colors work.
Scalefinishes Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 Thanks for the replies. I got the chassis done, here is an update. The exhaust is from the kit, but cut up for this application. Hosted on Fotki The stock '57 rear end with scratch built ladderbar and coilovers. george 53 Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Well Hot Dang James, THAT'S a cool twist off the norm! It LOOKS like alotta other cookie cutter chevy's. But you puttin a PONTIAC engine in it, an that 4 link, Well now, THAT's a nice change!!! Looks REAL good James, keep it up! B)
Scalefinishes Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 Thank you george, my dad says he knew a guy when he was young who had put a 389 in a '57. I do have the interior finished up, and soon the entire car will be finished. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Thanks for looking.
Brett Barrow Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Eighties indeed! Gotta wear shades to look at that paint job!!! I'm working on that same kit right now. Rep & Min Co of MD sells a back seat for the 150, BTW, so you don't have to buy a whole kit for the seat, but I'm glad you did because that turned out a very nice model!
Trans Am Erik Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Cool Chevy! Looks like the car from "Catch Me if you can"
dwc43 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 From the movie Catch Me if You Can. One of my favorite car movies. I loved the red version of that car too. 454 4 spd.
