lizardlust Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Somehow I don't think the folks at Racing Champions intended for this reissue to look that good... Lovely work, Brian!!!
Guest Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 That is really sweet. What did you use for underhood insulation?
my name is nobody Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Terrific Color! I like this vintage of GTO. last of the really good looking G.T.O's Those Honeycomb wheels look awesome. if I remember correctly, lots of guys ditched those. they were incredibly heavy. Beautiful Model.
george 53 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 VERY nice Build,B. you dun 'er GOOD! GREAT color combination. I actually knew someone who had a 72 GTO in that same combo! Very nice car, and model too!!!
Chuck Most Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Knowing how substandard that kit is, parts and detail wise, your completed model is incredible! I'm especially fond of the color- it just pops on that old goat!
kelson Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I like it alot!what color is the paint? and did you have to make any modifications to get the 69'olds chassis to fit under the GTO?

Thanks guys..the color is a mix I made, I believe the chassis swap was pretty easy although I'm sure I had to do some trimming here and there
John Teresi Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Brian, you created a beauty......very well done Sir.
impcon Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 A great choiceof colour and wheels! The car looks so right in that colour!!!!!!!!! You need to tell usmore about the build - more detail as to what you did and how you utilized the different chassis.. please do so..

You need to tell usmore about the build - more detail as to what you did and how you utilized the different chassis.. please do so.. Well I wanted to build a decent '72 and after looking at the gto kit I knew "out of the box" wasn't going to cut it! I just happened to think of the 442 kit and measured the chassis on a built one and saw it would work fine..I did make some mods, but I kind of do this as I go along I ordered the correct grill inserts and the honeycolmbs usual motor detailing, shabo transfers, made the channels for the airscoop, here's a coupla wip pics.
