codie27 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Hi all, not sure really where to place this post as its not a model build, but a question for you all. Does any model company offer a Tucker 48/Torpedo as a kit? If not, is anybody out there producing them in resin? I dont know about anybody else, but I would absolutely love to get my hands on one of these. Imagine the possibilities that could result from such an awesome subject.....
jjsipes Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) To my knowledge no one has ever offered a Tucker in plastic but the Modelhaus does offer a resin one. See link attached. http://modelhaus.com/index.php?c=4234&p=63578 Edited September 9, 2010 by jjsipes
philo426 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 tHe Modelhaus makes one but it does not have engine or suspension detail. Here is mine!
dwc43 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I've seen some metal cars before with some great detail to them. Franklin Mint type detail, but I have not seen an ad for them in a while. Might try doing a net search for them. Might even combine the metal with a resin body if you feel the need.
codie27 Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I thought this was not going to be an easy one to find, seems I might be right. Although Im going to have to try and find a Modelhaus resin body and build my own chassis and find some suitable running gear for it. I like the model that you posted Phil ,looks very sharp. Has anybody here ever used a diecast body and made modifications to it? I have seen the Tucker in 1/18 scale and have a 1950 Studebaker Champion also in that scale which I want to pull apart and add some real detail and body mods.
codie27 Posted September 10, 2010 Author Posted September 10, 2010 Thanks1 You must mean this Stude. Thats the one, mine is a champagne colour. They are detailed nicely, but could do with more.
philo426 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I got that at Big Lots for 10 bucks about 18 months ago!
