Just wondered if anyone had any "do use" or "don't use" info concerning primers under Black Gold paint. I have the Molly Orange for a McEwen car and was hoping to avoid any non-compatible pairing of primer and paint. Thanks for any help and info.

Hey gang,

Good question, and good answers, but I have a further question. What is the plasticote primer now called? Is it the Valspar stuff? I just cannot find plasticote name anywhere, what else should we be looking for? Thanks.

Then switch to duplacolor...a bit hotter, but works great.

black gold also sells the primer for under their paint. you can get it for airbrush or in a spray can. as the other guys mentioned duplicolor and plasticoat will work also.
