crispy Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 It's been awhile since I've updated anything about emodelcars.com. The site just reached 1002 registered users. There has been approximately 250-300 auctions running. I know some of you always bellyache about it either being NASCAR or the same old stuff. It's not the case though. I agree there is a lot of the same stuff, but it is updated occasionally and I hope you take the time to check out the site at least once or twice a week. If everyone here that was trading or trying to sell out would utilize the "FREE" site we could acquire more traffic, more items for buyers and more sellers. The only cost you incur is if you add on premiums of which are only $1.00. Check out the auctions running now: CURRENT AUCTIONS The site is set up similar to ebay but is much easier to use in my opinion, and it is free! This is just a friendly update and notice for any newcomers to the site. Chris

Greg Cullinan Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 The funny thing is I saw the rack on there a week ago,I made a mental note to sign up before it ended and I missed it. So I saw Chris resisted in and registered and immediately bid and figured it was going to be a battle,I noticed all the views and was expecting some snipers on the last day. I should have known it was you Greg. We would have been in a bidding war, but I was out of ammo Enjoy the paint rack Greg. I'm happy for ya,Its a great addition to your hobby room.
The Modeling Hermit Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I'm in. I don't sell much, but with the changes to ebay, I got to the point that I was leery about selling anything, so I stopped. I might be inclined to sell something from your site.
ScaleSpeedShop Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I used to sell quite a bit on FeeBay. But it has gotten to the point the sellers have no protecton, and are charged an arm and a leg in sellers fees then are forced to accept paypal. What a crock. I have a Emodelcars account but haven't used it yet. I just wish it had more traffic but I guess that is partly my fault.
GrandpaMcGurk Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 (edited) eBay ain't what it used to be....such is life. Over time it has evolved from a flea market to a platform for the buy cheap & sell high get rich quick guys. I know for a fact that many sellers buy though Hobby Lobby and other sales and sit on them until the production run ceases. Then they put them up for sale at ridiculous prices. A lot of these sellers could care less about the models, it's the bucks they are after, add to that the eBay fees & and sellers "bogus" shipping & that magic "handling" fee (passed on to you).....well, you get my drift......I'm signing up with emodelcars today. It'll grow as as more modelers become aware that you can find some "real" bargains there......I don't have the time to sort through all the overpriced junk on evil bay. DrewCfromSC Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Benn looking at the sight but have not bought or sold snything. Hoping to start using it more as I actually get some extra items. Lets all see if we can make it happen a bit more. Ebay is not the only place we should have to find models at. Drew C from SC
TurboKitty Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Lately I still see a lot of stuff I wouldn't mind buying on emodelcars.com, but what makes some people think that a kit from the '90s, that was VERY common, and is still pretty common, is worth $30 to $50, not even including shipping? Even newer kits that the MSRP was between $16.99 to $24.99 (when they were new releases) are almost double in price, and they aren't even 5 years old yet. The same kits keep getting relisted over and over again. Maybe it's because the items are priced a little bit too high? Just some food for thought, the same goes for eBay. Just because a kit is priced at $40 or $50 (or even higher), it doesn't mean it's worth it. Who wants to spend $50 on something they plan on building, or when they can be had for half that or even cheaper elsewhere? A good way to determine the actual value is to look at the kits that are selling, and get an average price based on the condition of your kit. Plus there are price guides for kits too. I'm not pointing fingers, and I'm not singling out anyone specifically. I don't know who listed what, it's just an observation that other people here may have noticed too. Not meaning to ruffle any feathers, it's just a hobby and everyone likes a good deal lol
Greg Cullinan Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Chris "Crispy" is a great seller on Emodelcars.com, I recommend everyone who is shopping for a kit online check Emodelcars.com out. Thanks Chris, you were a pleasure to buy from and I really appreciate this, I don't think you did it for the money(I'm sure it helps) but more for the reason of helping another model builder out.
crispy Posted September 30, 2010 Author Posted September 30, 2010 Greg, Glad to see you got it together with ease! Looks great! Nice to see it filled too! LOL Believe it or not I had four racks. I'm utilizing two of them and one has the Model Master base. One I sold you and I have another in storage I might put on emodelcars once I dig it out and find an adequate shipping box. Thanks again for your patience with me too. The hectic schedule is only getting worse for me. Chris
