codie27 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Hey all, this is what happens when I cant get the motivation to finish a build, so here goes. What are your favourite builds that you have finished? Trucks, cars, dioramas, anything. All I am digging for is some inspiration to get me to pull my finger out and finish a couple of builds so I can share them here on the forum. Cheers Codie
DRG Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Motovation to start modeling is something I am having a problem with myself. My favorite model of all time is the 1940 Ford done in any configuration you can. It's the only model I remember from my childhood though my memory has been jogged a little since I joined this great forum.
Jon Cole Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 (edited) I am also having problems with motovation. Lately if I sit at my bench, I just cannot work on the model in front of me. Yesterday, I just packed up that model, and "attempted" to clean up the bench. The box is still there in case I want to start working on it. As for my favorite model? I guess that would be most any one I completed. Edited September 12, 2010 by Jon Cole
JamesW Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I too seem to have a problem with motivation right now. Maybe I should change up from my usual lowrider and mini truck style and build something different.
Greg Cullinan Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Build? Build? Why build when you can come here and see others do it ! Same boat here,I'm figuring when the weather changes I will get back at it . Here is my favorite of my builds..(also the last one I completed)
Greg Cullinan Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Is this foil? If so impeccable! This one is my favorite build: oldscool
Lownslow Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 this might be all time fav in my collection
oldscool Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 (edited) Greg, the trim on my Charger is just good old Testors silver in the little square bottle. If you look closely it is a little sloppy around the back windshield. Your Merc looks great. oldscool Edited September 13, 2010 by oldscool

codie27 Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 This one is my favorite build: oldscool Love the old Charger, one of the toughest looking muscle cars ever built. Good work!!
Monte's Motors Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Here's what I feel to be my favorite builds of mine. Hope these help ya my friend.
codie27 Posted September 13, 2010 Author Posted September 13, 2010 Here's what I feel to be my favorite builds of mine. Hope these help ya my friend. Thanks, they are all cool, but I really dig the Mercury(?) and Edsel there. The rust and weathering is very convincing,Nice work!
Monte's Motors Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 The Mercury is a '58 Parklane resin from Modelhaus. Do your research on color choices. There are many color placement options from factory production. The pink and black is a "flo-tone" color placement option. Here's link to more pictures of the '58 Edsel. Do your research on anything and you will find something exciting to build. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34113&st=0&p=346270&fromsearch=1&#entry346270
my name is nobody Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 I'm partial to this build up: mostly because I built it up as a replica of the 1:1 that sits in my garage. I do enjoy this model, though. a terrific kit in all of its variations & it's a classic Mustang. this was built up as a replica of a car that cruised around my hometown back in the seventies:
The Modeling Hermit Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 This is my favorite truck. This one pushed my limits. This is my favorite car I like it because it is not impressive, and hides all of the work that went into converting it.

I am building a P Series Diamond T at the moment but cant seem to get ahead on it. I reckon the problem is that ever since I saw a real one I have wanted to build one, now I finally have one I have the modellers equivalent of writers block and its driving me nuts!!!! cazxr2 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 (edited) Hi there I posted a similar post few months back.(will try getting link up fo u after work) but my favouite build has changed since then lol I think I like this the most because It was my first custom chop shop style car. It was fun but challenging, it was built for a small cbp we had at work it came in 2nd but to me I love it the most. And it now lives in my house(rather than the model hut) Edited September 14, 2010 by cazxr2
diymirage Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 this is one of my favorites, the AMT 74 GTX i origenally bought the kit because it was on sale for half off but then when i got thekit home it turned out really nice and had a lot of chromed and extra parts in it that werent advertised on the box this is another one of those kits, i bought it because the price was right (had a 40% off coupon) but the whole thing just has a cool feel to it (i think its one of the best looking camaros out there, whatever revell did wrong is what chevy should have done)
codie27 Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 They are both sweet, the Plymouth looks cool with the Road Runner spoiler on the rear.
