DrewCfromSC Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 Anyone have any ideas on how to make a convincing surfboard for a 1953 ford pickup? Maybe some place to buy. Thanks in advance Gary Hey Gary, im pretty sure the garbage truck kit has them. I found a pair in the wanted section a while ago. Why not try there? You might try the resin idea? Where in S.C. are you? Drew C from SC
Jairus Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) Make your own! Not that difficult being mostly flat on both sides with a gentle curve and one little fin. I made these with basswood and mahogany. Took one evening to glue together and the next to sand. Then fiberglass with no cloth. More wet sanding and paint or clearcoat. Darned things are as close to the real article as you can get and I did it in just a few hours! Whole build shown here. (Why do I get the feeling nobody reads my posts?)
