miatamadman Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Anyone planning on casting some wider rear tires to Fit the Revell choppers?
Bigjeepzz Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Actually there is a guy who is working on a 300 series rear tire. He goes by Steamboy here I saw a thread somewhere and he posted a couple pictures of a rear tire he has been working on. From what I remember he is going to have it set up where the builder can cut the wheel center out of the Revell Chopper kits and glue it into the resin wheel and tire. I cannot recall when he said he would have it ready but from what I saw it looks like it is going to be quite nice. Hopefully he will chime in Jake
Modelmartin Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I will chime in. I machined the wheel rim and tire for Steamboy aka Clint W. He is going to carve the tread in it and then we are considering casting them if there is enough interest. It scales to 300 mm wide measured at the sidewall.
steamboy Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Hey guys- I am starting to pay some attention to this again. The boy is BIG right at an inch wide. My frame measures less than an inch i.d. which means more mods to make it fit. But thats the look I wanted.
monsterman Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Thats too cool! Well I will and am a potential buyer on those wheels/tires since I am hooked on those Revell Choppers I think I have 4 of each kit and just the other day picked up 3 more... So put me down for some PHAT tires/wheels!
miatamadman Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Me too ! Me too ! Put me down for a few
USAC_1957 Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 been hoping someone would tackle this, count me in for a couple!
Smart-Resins Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Id love to obtain one or more myself!!
hogs29 Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 I'd be in for a few as well. And I know of at least 3 other modelers not on this board that would love some of those. Oh please, please, please!!!
Modelmartin Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Clint and I are working on it. It will be a conversion including the tire, outer rims to widen the Revell wheels, a fender, extensions to move the drivetrain out, and widened frame halves. It will be a turn key set-up to put some "FAT" in the back of your bike. It will probably be a few weeks yet. We will announce when they are ready. Thanks to all of you for your interest.
