oldscool Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) Finally got this one finished. Don't know why the chrome looks scratched in the pics, it doesn't look that way in reality. oldscool Edited October 7, 2010 by oldscool
Railfreak78 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Very nice my friend! Beautiful green. What color is it? I have a project coming up with that color likeness in mind. I like the over all look of this one.
oldscool Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the comment Brian and it's Testors Lime Ice one shot laquer sprayed right over the plastic with no primer and clear coated with Testors wet look clear then rubbed out with Blue Magic metal polish. I chickened out on painting the side trim:P oldscool Edited October 7, 2010 by oldscool
W-409 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 This is looking very good. The kit is not so great, I have 6 Monogram's '56 Chevys. Paintjob looks good, like that colour very much, green and white is a good combo, those wheels are just like what did they use in 70's... Engine looks good too, it's quite simple from the box, but your one looks right. I have Monogram '57 Chevy Bel Air too, and it will be 80's finnish hot rod...
davyou5 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I really like the Paint job! it really stands out .
Terry Sumner Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I don't have that kit and I don't think I've ever actually seen one. So I have a question for you... Is that the way the firewall is made in the engine compartment? I mean... is there no part for the rear of the engine compartment which would actually be the firewall or is that the way the firewall is represented n the kit?
oldscool Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) Hi Terry, unfortunately that's the kit firewall and it's one of the low points of this kit along with all the old monogram 1/24 Chevys. Not even a master cylinder to go on it. The slots are for a hood hinge that I didn't use. oldscool Edited October 7, 2010 by oldscool
