this kit was built by a friend of mine that, a, has no patience, and b, hasn't built a model in close to 20 years.

built box stock with a little twist on the color...he wanted a personal touch.

the color is HOK Galaxy Gray (iirc) b/c with a custom mixed HOK kandy with HOK SG100 w/gold interference pearl over all of that.

the wheels are the stock chrome with Tamiya Smoke airbrushed over that until color desired was achieved (hard to photograph) and the chrome lip was cleaned with a q-tip & alcohol.

...on with the pics

While it wouldn't be my first choice of colour, that's a very nice shine it has. It looks like a lot of effort went into laying that paint down and a job very well done.

I looks really good for someone who has not been at it for a long time. Excellent job!

the paint was his choice...i was incorrect about the base coat. it was HOK Orion Silver.

it really is a difficult color to capture in a picture.

it took a lot of effort on my part to not help him with the paint...i think it turned out well. and it hasn't been polished!
