Tonioseven Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Hey. This is one I'm building for a tribute group build on another forum. I'm somewhat of a secret Ferrari-lover; I always felt that they were overrated(please don't flame me, I'm entitled to my own opinions) but I finally had to give in to the dark side. This build will not be red, nor will any Ferrari I build. It will have a few modifications though. The driver's side mirror wanted to visit the sewer system via the kitchen sink so I decided to use the mirrors from the Pennzoil GT-R with the mounting plates from the HKS Silvia. The wheels are modified Kranze Borphes that will be stripped and treated to some Alclad. There were a few sinkmarks that caught my attention but overall the kit is pretty good. I'm not sure about color choices yet but that will come eventually. Thanks for reading all of the blabbering.
Nick F40 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007  Nice style wheel! I think this will turn out cool! 8)
Matt T. Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Oh yeah, that's cool! Ferraris, like any other car, respond well to a good wheel swap. The factories can never get it right. Those wheels are beauties. I too have a stash of Ferraris that I've yet to build. Some will be red though. Is that the Fujimi or Revell kit?
Tonioseven Posted February 23, 2007 Author Posted February 23, 2007 Thanks guys. It's the Revell kit that I got from Wal-Mart.
ismaelg Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Cool! That's going to be very nice! I have a Revell F430 in the workbench and it will be Cobra Colors Blue Mirabeau metallic. I saw this one in Road Atlanta and I fell in love. I also have some aftermarket wheels for it. Thanks, Ismael "the Corvette guy who also likes Ferraris" Gonzalez
crispy Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I'm also in that build group Tonio, doing an F430 spider ala Miami Vice the movie. So, red is not the color. Just started dry fitting mine last night (RoG kit) and wasn't real pleased with the results. Going to be a fiddly kit I think. I should have sucked it up and bought the Fujimi kit, but I was being cheap. Look forward to seeing yours built! Chris

bsoder Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Hey Tonio I think that anything 20 times outa my price range is overrated! ..that's why I build models!! looking forward to seeing how your prancing horse turns out 8) .....B
Tonioseven Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 Hi. After a bit of work, the body is in primer... This kit will take some work but that's part of the fun of building, isn't it?! :smokin: There will be more progress as I get time. I'll probably do the interior next while I wait for my cf decals that will be used in the engine compartment. Thanks
Tonioseven Posted February 27, 2007 Author Posted February 27, 2007 Hi. The idea of a green Ferrari has always fascinated me; so I'm going to build one... The color is a Ford ( ) color from Plastikote. The clear needs to be rubbed out but I like it. Thanks
Nick F40 Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007  I like the color! Its a Ford F430!
