Deckerz Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I was sanding some putty on a body, its in a awkward place and iv accidently sanded down a pannel line, how can i redo the lines to make it look like new?
Foxer Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 I'm assuming it was a raised line. Some small plastic strips may do the job. Triangular or some rectangular that you can sand and reshape after in place are my first thoughts without knowing what they started as. There are some pretty small Evergreen and Plasti-strut shapes.

Modelmartin Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 All of Mark's advice is good so I won't repeat it. I would add one technique to that. Sometimes I lay out the line that needs to be scribed with masking tape. Sometimes if it is a curved line I will lay down the tape, draw a pencil line on it and cut away the unneeded tape with the sharp end of the knife. I then use the back side of the knife to start scribing. The first few passes are very, very light - just scratching the surface. Once a groove is established slightly more pressure can be added until you get the depth you want. Sometimes you can tilt it to one side on one pass and the other way on the next pass to widen it a little bit if needed. Good luck to you.
935k3 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Another good product for guiding re-scribing is DYNAMO brand label maker tape, The type for the old mechanical label makers. It is is thick plastic with a very good adhesive. It really helps guide the blade for scribing and defining edges.
