I figured there were some rare ones. Like the Bandag Bandit and a few others. I told my Dad this weekend if he never gets around to putting them together to keep them, cuz I want them when I settle down after college. The plan is to piece them all back together and build a diorama out of them. When I go with my wife to Tennessee for college I plan to take a few, like the California Special, KW Cement Mixer, KW wrecker, The Duck, The "Movin on" rig and BJ and the bear.

  • 1 year later...

I figure I would resurrect this so you all know or remember what I working with. I currently have torn apart and in ziplock kits: Orange Kenworth Cement Mixer, Black Chevy 4x4 Dually stepside, Alaskan Hauler, Paystar with 5th wheel, Hemi Cuda, BJ and the Bear Rig, Pete Tow Truck and the Copper Pete with Sleeper. Rebuilt or WIP is the International Cab Over with Visor, Second green Movin' on Kenworth, Gray snap tight KW Conventional with sleeper, had the Paystar with 5th wheel together but tore it back down for new paint, One reefer and one low boy with International and JD Tractor for a load. Current WIP is the Autocar Dump. Thanks for all the tips and tricks for disassembly but what do you guys use for taking off the paint from the 70s? Thanks. Pics of the current builds will be posted elseware.

Man!!! I have dreams about finding boxes like these... I'm either in someones attic or basement and they tell me, 'take them with you, they're just taking up space...' Talk about waking up disappointed :D ... That's a great collection, soooo many possibilities... Sooo many rare models... I saw a coulple of related threads before seeing this one... This makes me appreciate those more than ever...
