carsntrucks4you Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Due to the fact that there is no resin model in 1/24 or 1/25 I got my 2 Fujimi Rabbit GTi last saturday from HLJ and star with some cuts here and here and ...... Here the first pictures More pictures here http://public.fotki.com/carsntrucks4you/mo...olkswagencaddy/ I don't have any idea how to paint it, what kind of rims, RHD or LHD
Twist67 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hi Michael, thats looking great.....Keep on the progress and leave it with the stock rims,lol..........White,some rust and dents and some company logo on the doors.....It will look like a car I drove for a company.....
carsntrucks4you Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 Yes thats sounds familiar. During my university time (more or less studying) I work for Kölner Flitzer and drove a Caddy with hardtop.
Twist67 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Lol, yes I konw those cars from leverkusen.......Maybe you could make some decals of that company....
MrObsessive Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hey that's gonna be neat when done! We don't have too many of those here in the states anymore...............the rust unfortunately killed a lot of them.
Modelmartin Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I bought one of those new in 1982! It was silver with a gray and blue interior. I loved that thing! I autocrossed it and the only thing that beat me were Scirrocos and GTIs. I actually drove it coast to coast and many times to Toledo NNL. The cool thing about the Rabbit P-U was that it was developed and built first in the US in Pennyslvania at the former Chrysler plant that Chrysler used for payment to VW for all of those VW engines that went in the Early Omni/ Horizons!!! Myself and family members ran the mileage up to almost 200K before economics of replacing EVERYTHING possible on the vehicle doomed it  . Ah memories!
Chromecop Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Great idea! Why haven't this conversion been seen in 1/25 before????
carsntrucks4you Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 Here some new progress pictures. I had add the rear window frame. The dashboard will be modified from RHD to LHD.
carsntrucks4you Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 While I was playing around with the parts of the 2nd Rabbit body, I came up with the idea of using the front clip for a BBQ. Firtst I wanted to build a small diorama with a BBQ in front of a wall or fence. But a trailer looks even better, specially as a BBQ on wheels. So I crafted the rear of the 2nd body into the frontclip and its nearly finished. The hood will be opened inside there will be a grill, charcoal add T-Bone steaks.
