davyou5 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 (edited) Hello all, This is a project I just finished up and gave to my mother, who has always wanted a Purple Car . All of the Trim, Door Handles, Vents, Were BMF'd. For my second time using this Chrome BMF, It's not half Bad . I am Learning folks . Also I was trying to touch up some paint, and I had placed the Black Decal's that go on the side rear of the car Left and Right, and the Masking Tape ended up ripping it up, so I had to remove the Decals and I decided to put the Plymouth on the WindShield instead. My only complaint about this kit is the fact that the holes were not drilled for the Spoiler on the Trunk, I cut the tips off the bottom of the Spoiler and glued the Spoiler on from there. Model: Revell Muscle '71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Paint Color: Exterior - Plymouth Plum Crazy ( On a side note, I did see some one else here use this color awhile back when I first started out here on this forum, just letting all know that this color purple was the only one in Stock at HL, and I was not about to purchase Testor's purple color. So I am not trying to copy anyone's work). Model Masters Black, Testor's Blanch White, Amber Red. Interior- Model Masters Black, Testors Chrome Silver. Status Finished and Waxed. Next Project: U.S.S. Enterprise - Aircraft Carrier. 1/1200 Scale Edited October 25, 2010 by davyou5
ian ashton Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Looks great, you'd never guess that it was only your second time using Bare Metal Foil!
davyou5 Posted October 25, 2010 Author Posted October 25, 2010 nice build Looks great, you'd never guess that it was only your second time using Bare Metal Foil! Thank you for your comments, it really means allot. Winter is about to set in, and unfortunately after Two models that I am doing IE namely U.S.S Enterprise Aircraft Carrier, and the Custom '49 Mercury , It will be my last set of models that I am doing until Winter is over. since I do not have the luxury of a Garage, or a paint booth to put inside the home. I very much appreciate all of the help and support I have gotten here. Thanks again guys.
brett Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Wow David, you can really see the improvment with each build. Congrats man. And great job on my second most favorite car in its best color too:rolleyes:

I hope it will help others too.
mrmike Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 Nice looking 'Cuda, Dave! If I may make a suggestion, remove the driving light brackets from the front bumper and mount the lights directly to the bottom of the bumper. http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y224/mrmike007/1971%20Plymouth%20Cuda%20Convertible/?action=view¤t=CudaCon31.jpg
DRG Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I'm building the same model myself though I'm having trouble with the paint job. I painted it blue metallic. At least now I know what it is supposed to look like. Nice build.

I didn't realize that the driving light were in the wrong place , but as I said I gave it away, so I cannot fix it now . Oh well if I decide to build another, I will use your suggestion. Blue Metallic would be an Excellent color for the Cuda , I will anticipate your finished Cuda. I too have had some problems painting but not many, thankfully there are allot of good people here with the best suggestions on the painting process, as I have progressed in learning to paint I believe you will too . Thanks for the comment .
