1961 Mercury Comet Post

This is a quickie curbside I have wanted to do for a while now. I found this Promo on "Internet Auction Site" and have been messing with it the last week or two. I have made a ton of subtle body mods including a total reshape of the transition between the door and qtr panel fin area. The bumpers have been smoothed and headlights drilled for MV Headlights - they will get a re-chrome. I turned the 18"/20" factory style wheels myself from aluminum and also turned and polished the dog dish hubcaps. I have just black sharpie colored them to mockup the wheels in black so their finish in these pics isn't as smooth as paint. The beige interior inserts are getting a black plaid pattern and a black outline. I have since Painted and cleared the body and it is curing.

Yes, except for the front fender ornaments.

I agree. It looks mean! Most early comets I've seen look like a granny car. This one looks like a real butt-kicker!
