voljeepx Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 This is Revell of Germany Ferrari California. I finished it in Tamiya metallic black with Tamiya clear, then polished it. There are so many red and yellow Ferrari's in this world, it was nice to change it up. Interior is flocked and photoetched parts are used here and there throughout the build. Beautiful car and I hope you all enjoy! Thanks for looking! Ed
TheCat Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) LOVE IT!!! I have the convertible version of this car. I'm not sure what color I'm going to paint it yet. What you used to polish the Tamiya clear with? I use Tamiya Paints and Sprays myself and Love how that shine came out. AWESOME WORK!!! Edited November 8, 2010 by TheCat

Coarse, fine, then finish followed up with Scratch Doctor polish. Then I wax with Meguiars. Works great for me. I like the "thin" appearance of Tamiya clears, more realistic than some two part clears. You will enjoy building this kit, I did! Thanks again! Ed
Peter Lombardo Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Ed, Great job on this one....the paint looks beautiful....very liquid smooth and dust free....The Tamiya paint truly works wonders.
Guest Sickfish Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Fantastic build Ed! Great work! I'm building this kit, along with the Tamiya Aston Martin & Revell Audi R8. My only complaint about these recent kits, both Tamiya & Revell, is the lack of sidewall detail on the tyres :-( I'm not painting my California in a traditional colour nor using the kit supplied wheels, more of a mild custom ;-) Thanks for showing your build! Cheers Cliffo :-)
crispy Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Very nice! Met. Black works extremely well on this car. I was able to talk to an owner of one in black this year. His had Daytona seats with yellow inserts and stitching. What a color combo! Great build!! Thanks for sharing! Chris
