This is the Monogram 1/43 289 Cobra. I have picked up the project that I started a couple of years ago.

I have cut open the trunk and doors, Wired the motor, put aluminum on the inside front fender wells, and have got the photoetched wheels put together. I have plans for using more aluminum in the

engine compartment, plumping the brakes, heater hoses, radiator hoses, battery cables from the trunk. I have also opened up the vents in the front fenders. Thanks for viewing.

Looks great so far Dave!

I have one of those too but haven't looked at it in a long time...............I'll let you build it for me! :D

Brian, did you have any peculiar troubles with your build? It looks really sharp!

Thanx Bill!!

The only issue I had with mine was the wheels, but that's because someone had started the kit, and messed up the outer PE spokes. I just built the wheels without them. The kit fit together very nice, better than you'd think given it's size. I have the Vette kit in the pile, and it looks a little more challenging than the Cobra was.

Nice work on both! I remember when the Corvette and the Cobra sat on the shelves and moved very slowly. I'm kicking myself for not picking up the Vette while it was cheap. I think I even saw them in clearance for under $5... Oh well...

Thanks,

Monoped: a question on the pictures of this model. What set up you used to take them. Did you use one of this comercial small portable studios or did you used your own?. Let me know, I like a lot the quality of your pictures.

Thanx Simon!

Y'all aren't gonna believe this, but that is my kitchen counter, and the overhead kitchen lights. I set the camera up on a tripod, set to macro mode, and frame the shot in camera. I crop and re-size them in p-shop before uploading them to the web. Eventually, I'll get around to setting up a proper light box, but the kitchen works pretty well :D
