bigdodge88 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Has anyone made a 1:24 or 1:25 model of a school bus? My mother in law has been a bus driver forever and I would like to build one for her. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Justin
highway Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 The only school buses I know of are from Resin Motor Replicas. http://www.freewebs.com/rmrresin/nf125.htm They are all older buses, the newest I found was a 56 Ford. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/flamefink/rmrresin/Buses/56Fordbus.jpg

As for school busses, you are pretty much on your own, except for the resin bodies noted (which are actually 1/32 scale short bodies, based on a Japanese kit, adapted to 1/25 scale truck front clips). A real school bus is a pretty large chunk of rolling real estate, and they can be scratchbuilt--in fact a couple of modelers have done them over the years. Art
Ben Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Tom Ellifrit who is a member on here, goes by the name, repstock, scratch built an incredibly detailed 70's-80's era International Loadstar school bus. I have never seen another bus model that even comes close to it as far as detail goes! The guy is one heck of a builder!
cargostar Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I have a resin IH S-Series hood and cab that would work with those bodies. It would be in the '78-'88 time frame.
Chuck Most Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 SOMEBODY... (cough, cough) needs to sell a Loadstar 1600 front end like Tom used on his bus. Who wouldn't love to have one of those?
