I have this problem that I am never happy doing one thing at a time, I like to multi-task, sometimes its a good things and other times it backfires. I am already working on one model, and now I have another one taking up space on my bench/desk. I recently was at the local Michaels store, and glancing around I saw the Audi R8. I had to have it, luckily I had a 40% coupon so it wasnt that much. Yesterday I was at that store again, with my friend, while she was looking around, I went to check out the Testors paint, and I saw the candy apple red. I had to have that color, I also know that you have to paint it over a metallic base, and some lowriders paint gold under the red, so when we got home I layed down the base gold, and later sprayed the red, I am happy with it. Well here is the progress as of today.

You probably won't believe it, but there's a guy here in Stockholm that has a real one, in candy red! He's known as the king of tow trucks, called Svempa.

Here's a link, hope it works. I have seen the car in the streets, and it sure looks sweet in candy red. The film doesn't show it very good.

That is an amazing car, I have seen one in blue with black everything (rims, lights, interior, badges, calipers, etc.). I went with the black side blades though. I also painted the grille and the front blades, flat black.

I like the color you've achieved. Have something similar to this on the bench right now. I started with the Dagon BMW M Roadster, the under coat was Tamiya Gold with an overcoat of Tamiya Clear Red. Both paints were decanted and sprayed through my airbrush and my results look a lot like what you've achieved. I'll start adding clear coats this weekend so that I can eventually polish.

I look forward to seeing your finished Audi.

I love it, Javier!!

Hope all is well with nephew.

For the Candy Apple Reds, I have always used the Testors Copper as the base.

I like the deepness I get with the Copper.

but, I love this gold under the CAR

Great job!

Maybe tape and spray Alcad on the black "stripe"?

Just a thought

with Alclad on it, WOW!

Or, that new chrome powder from Japan?

Or, carbon fiber?

Or, just leave as is, gloss black.

Okay, I pau

Thanks Gregg, my nephew is fine. It was a minor surgery, but any surgery is a dangerous surgery.

Robert; i am going to put clear coat on this weekend.

Quick update, chose the interior color. Light tan to accentuate the candy.

I was bored so I wanted to see what it would look like on the Calsonic chassis.

Finally done. Will post pics soon. Had a little trouble working on it, just couldnt get myself to finish it, today i was anxious waiting for something speacial tommorow, so i sat down and forced myself to work on it and finish it. Also i have a few other models that still need work (2 Calsonic Skylines, 1 Acura NSX, 1 Toyota Supra, 1 64 Impala, 1 Lamborghini Countach, Repainted a 69 Continental, 1 Top Secret Skyline, and a 32 5-window coupe) I need to work on them, to get over this slump that i am going through, I just need to find some inspiration.
