Paul S Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I wonder how close the Beretta chassis is to the Monzas of a few years before. Mike Nothing, not even close. It all changed quite a bit when NHRA dropped the lbs/cubic inch rule and IHRA went mountain motor.
RAT-T Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 HI, ANY UPDATES ON THIS? I JUST BOUGHT A BARETTA GT & WAS GOING TO TRY BUILDING SOMETHING LIKE THIS. I FORGOT ALL ABOUT THE PRO-STREET BARETTA, IS THE BODY MUCH DIFFERENT FROM THE GT?

I FORGOT ALL ABOUT THE PRO-STREET BARETTA, IS THE BODY MUCH DIFFERENT FROM THE GT? Tom, I've been trying to finish up a couple of other projects but will get started on this one soon. The Beretta Pro Street body is about the same as the Beretta GT kit's body. I just happen to have a few of these Revell Beretta Pro Street kits. I think I'm going to use a spare Monogram/Revell Camaro Pro Stock chassis for this. I was going to modify the Beretta'a chassis but the Camaro Pro Sock chassis is more accurate and I can use the Beretta chassis elsewhere. Edited November 17, 2011 by crowe-t
RAT-T Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 SOUNDS GOOD MIKE! I SAW A FEW PRO-STREET BARETTA KITS ON EBAY FOR HUGE MONEY, I WAS GOING TO BID ON A FEW BUILD-UPS/PARTS CARS, BUT I MIGHT HOLD OFF FOR NOW. WOULD A PRO-STOCK OLDS CHASSIS WORK FOR THIS? ALSO, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THE NOSE NEEDS TO BE STRETCHED?
crowe-t Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 (edited) Tom, It looks like the nose it needs to be stretched about 4 or 5mm behind the wheel openings. I re-sized the schematic but it's not a 100% match to the model. I also picked up a Revell Olds Pro Stock that I'll use with an MPC Beretta GT body for another Beretta Pro stock build. The olds chassis needs to be narrowed slightly. I happen to have a spare Monogram/Revell Pro Stock Camaro chassis so I'll use that for the Revell Beretta. The Camaro chassis will also need to be narrowed. Compresins.com sells the correct Pro Stock spoiler that says it's the Olds style. The Pro Stock olds kit also comes with that rear spoiler and a dash that looks just like a Beretta dashboard. Mike. Edited November 17, 2011 by crowe-t
