Kaleb Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Has anyone found another chassis that will fit? besides the Lincoln. That is the only reason I have not started.
Raul_Perez Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 Peter, I remember saying that I wanted one back when you first offered them, but as far as I know, you never sent one to me. I've seen Curt's build...it's awesome!! If you have extras, I'm still interested in buying one, but please don't go out of your way to send it in any great hurry. While my good friend Curt can pop out a build about every 11 days, (he has elves helping him...I've seen them), I only seem to be able to pop one out about every eleven months Honestly, I really don't know how he gets enough time to build as much as he does... Later,
Tony T Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Peter, I really am appreciative of your builds, the artistic ability, and design sense you have, and the fact you were willing to share by providing copies of the body!! I am really saddened that you had problems getting paid by everyone, but it seems the post was enough to get most up to the plate. I like your style, and the fact you are trusting of the people who share a wonderful hobby. Life happens, and good intentions sometimes do get pushed aside by reality. Hopefully the last one will surface, and settle up. I am planning on working on mine in the new year...I have a couple of possible directions under consideration, so we'll see what strikes when the time comes!! I'm planning on extending a chassis to fit under the body, and have three possible, a NASCAR and Viper from AMT and a '55 Chev convertible from Monogram.
ewaskew Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 That sucks. This forum is for model builders and you would think that anyone that builds models would not rip someone off, that offers products to us outside the big company's that don't. Even on trades if someone has something to trade that I want I waite until I get mine from them. Then I send them what we trade for. I had a guy that offered a trade but wanted me to send mine first. I explained to him that his trade offer was like money that he would send to me for the item I had that he wanted. This went on for a month and he wouldn't send what he offered so we didn't trade, and if I would have sent mine first I would have got riped off. Anyone that has got a kit from this man up front needs to pay him.
Wagoneer81 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 (edited) I bought one body, liked it so much, I asked for two more... Three weeks after they arrived, I remembered that I had forgot to send the payment (whoops! I felt bad about that...) so I immediatly borrowed my sisters computer and sent the money via Paypal. Where am I going with this? I felt bad about spacing the payment to Peter so, I can't understand how someone can feel good about intentionally not paying and ripping another person off. I'm sorry but my word and reputation are too dear to me to be labeled a thief over ANY amount much less ten or twenty dollars. I thought it was very generous to offer these bodys the way he did, it made me feel good that someone trusted his fellow hobbyists that far. Peter, I hope you get the rest of your money. I just hope this doesn't discourage you offering something like this again with a future project... (though maybe payment up front wouldn't be a bad idea, sorry to say... ) To those who stepped up and made it right, well done! To those with no intentions of paying, Karma will catch up with you. It's called Living With Intent; What you put out there, you WILL get back, tenfold. Edited December 13, 2010 by Wagoneer81
Peter Lombardo Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 Guys, I can't tell you how heartwarming all of this concern over a few payments is. Thanks, I really appreciate it. I got too much enjoyment out of doing this to be tainted by the minor inconvenience of having to chase a few dollars. If I only have one guy causing an issue here, I am way ahead of the game, besides, one guy (name withheld to protect the innocent) paid in advance for the one guy who didn't, so all is well. If I can come up with another body, after the new year, that is of interest to enough guys, we'll do it again. So, we can put this to rest now....all's well that ends well.
Clay Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Peter, count me in for a few bodies after the new year!!
