camarobuilder Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) I know about all the negative chatter about Reliable Resin. In fact, I've had my issues with Don in the past. In an effort to let bygones be bygones, I decided to order one of his "2006" Camaro Pro Mod bodies. I've ordered several resin bodies from various sources throughout the years, and have never been real impressed with any of them. Most are sitting in a pile in the corner...lol. After receiving this body, I must say that I'm glad I gave Don another chance. His work on this is really nice. You can tell that it's based on the AMT Camaro, but the nose, front wheel openings and rockers have all been reworked. It also comes with a seperate cowl hood and rear wing. i sat down with this thing earlier, and in less than 2 hours, I had it ready for primer. It really didn't need alot of work. Most of the time was spent opening up the windows. the only issue I really noticed with it was that it has a large "glob" of resin in the front, lower grille opening. I'm going to open up the opening anyway, so it wasn't a real big deal. These pictures were taken about an hour and a half after I started on it. It's sitting on a die cast Cavalier Pro Stock chassis. crowe-t Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) Frank, That's a great looking resin body. I'm glad to hear you like it and it's a good quality part. I recently ordered two '67-'69 Camaro Pro Mod bodies from Reliable Resin but they haven't arrived yet. Knowing you got a great product makes me sure mine will be as nice as the '06 Camaro you bought. That Cavalier Pro Stock chassis is a perfect match for the Camaro. What chassis will you be using when you build it up? Edited November 26, 2010 by crowe-t

crowe-t Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 It looks great! Where do you get TEM resin parts?
camarobuilder Posted November 29, 2010 Author Posted November 29, 2010 Top End Miniatures. They're on temporary hiatus right now, due to health issues. Hopefully, they'll be back selling son. http://www.freewebs.com/resinslinger/index.htm Competition Resin has many scoops, too. http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/page/237911 Frank
Rider Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 That body does look crisp. As I read your review I woundered what types of issues you have had with past bodies. I'm in the process of making a couple masters one being a chopped '40 for devilery van and the other a correct '73 Mustang Fastback for the Blue Max. Both the AMT and Revell kits are so wrong in so many ways. I'll be casting this for myself but would like to hear of the issues you have encountered with Resin bodies. Thanks LJ
