HI guys

I´d like to show you some pics of my Tijuana Taxi rescue.

It was bought off Ebay, and looked like this:

Tijuanarenovering02.jpg

I Started to take it apart, and this was the result

Tijuanarenovering03.jpg

It was a gluebomb....

Tijuanarenovering05.jpg

A TRUE gluebomb

Tijuanarenovering04.jpg

Lots of glue, broken, and missing pieces

Tijuanarenovering07.jpg

Here I started scratchbuilding the missing torpedo plate

Tijuanarenovering11.jpg

A lot of repair all over...

Tijuanarenovering12.jpg

Finally it was time for the first mock up...

Tijuanarenovering14.jpg

Here the body is painted, the engine repainted and the decals on...

And the final result

Scratchbuild items include torpedo plate, rear shocks, gear shifter, driveshaft, and LOTS of small bits and pieces...

Great save!

That's one of the most sought after kits in history, and you did a fantastic job saving it.

Thanks,

I got a Ice-T kit that went south because of a bad paint job. I used Testor white primer then sprayed Tamiya Chrome Yellow. It was my first time using Tamiya and the paint just started to crack.

I'll be willing to trade for something because I don't want this kit to sit in my room and be forgotten. I have only built the rear end and then put it away after the bad paint job.
