NitroJunky Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Thought i would post a few photos of one my truck models. I built this model as promo item for drag racing team i am part of. The tractor unit is a Italeri Renault Magnum. Its been converted to RHD with a dashboard from Auslowe. I have also fitted chrome wheel trims from the italeri accessory kit and suise coils from KFS. The trailer started life as the citroen rally team trailer kit from italeri, its has been extensivly cut, choped and rebuilt. The axles have been moved closer to the rear end, Doors have ben cut in the side so you can see the workshop area, all of which was scratch built. The rear end was completly rebuilt. The front end was rebuilt and office/lounge area was built. The decals for trailer and truck were produced by local guy here in the UK. The model as on show at UK drag racing meets and the base as been signed by Andy Carter, Tom Bogner ( Lucas Oil USA) Les Downey ( Lucas Oil UK) and Pelle Lindlow former european top fuel driver, He built the real trailer some years ago. The real truck A close up of how clear the decals are.
george 53 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Gareth, there's a mote of dust on that rear right tire you omitted. But other than THAT, I think it came out GREAT!!!! I LIKE it!
Old Albion Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I would say this is a pretty accurate replica of the real thing. Excellent work! Dave
NitroJunky Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 Thanks for the comments guys. A lot of work went into that build aswell aslot of money. The only problem with it now is that it was on display in the glass case in the sun, not thinking about the heat the sun warped the roof.
