Scania 144L 460

These are just a few photos of another project im work on along with my AMT "Movin On" truck.

My uncle owns his on haulage company and one of my favourite truck of his is his scania 144l 460.

I thought it was time i made a scale model of it.

The base kit is an Italeri 4 series kit called the "heavy truck".

It has been converted to a 6x2 twin steer using a conversion kit from KFS. I then swaped the kit closed steps with an open step kit from KFS.

The front kit wheels have been replaced with a set of super singles from KFS.

I have converted the truck to RHd using a dash from KFS along.

Other items from the KFS range include a scania stack kit, Jost sliding 5th wheel kit and susie coil kit.

The front grille as had all the indents drilled out to look a little more realistic.

The frame for stacks was scratch built.

The cab has been painted in mineral blue to match the livery of Hanson conblock products.

There is still alot more to do aswell as building a brick trailer to go with it.

As said before its always been one of my favourite trucks that my uncle owns, I did attempt to build it around 12 years ago, Back then i was still in high school and my modeling skills were some what to be desired.

There is still loads do such as licence plates, "hanson" decals and spot lights etc.

Since those photos were taken i have made a start weathering the truck, fitted the 5th wheel. I have also painted the supports for the exhaust stacks and built and painted the exhaust system to link the stacks to the engine.

After christmas i will be ordering the KFS crane and brick grab kits for the brick trailer.
