Guest Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted some kits over there. Looked at all the other auctions, not one bid on anything there. What's the point then? Probably better off selling on ebay.
Greg Cullinan Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I look often and notice there are no auctions, every thing is set as a buy out. If it isn't something I am specifically looking for I am not going to buy out even if it is a great price. On the flip side,I will bid on auctions of items I am not specifically after.
Greg Cullinan Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I know, more traffic is the answer. I just think if there were more auctions there would be more traffic. Just personally,I am.more inclined to bid than buy anymore.
Guest Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I have my items at auction for 2 weeks, and set up the relist for 10 times. I also have enabled both auction and buyout options.
ra7c7er Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I think the problem is that emodelcars doesn't have much of a search engine presence so very very few people outside of those that know about it find it. I advertise it on my site but my site does not have anything to do with model cars so I doubt that helps. Some spaming onto places like Craigslist and yahoo groups related to model building would bring in some new people along with spreading the word on smaller forum sites and club sites. It's a big never ending circle and it goes like this. more sales bring more sellers more sellers bring more products more products bring more buyers more buyers bring more money more money brings more sales and repeat hopefully over and over and over. The low web presence of all the "e" sales sites is really what hurts most of them. I am on a slot car auction and sales site nearly the exact same as emodelcars and they have the same problem. It's all about getting the word out and honestly I wouldn't even mind a advert on the forum for it. I bet even though the people that run this site run emodelcars that half the people here don't know what emodelcars is.
whale392 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 I check it for kits I am looking for. As I am not selling (yet, but I will be selling some withing the next year or so), but when I do I will post them there first.
Aaronw Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I've bought several items through the site, it is easy to use but for some reason it seems like many would rather violate the trading forum rules buy offering to buy / sell than using the site provided. I would use it more but I just don't find that many items I am really interested in.
Nova-ss Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I've used it to buy somethings.it worked fine with help from the seller.I recieved the things I've bought....it was good but it does need more products, which would interest more people.it would be a almost a natual law that the more product....more people and traffic for the site.I check it alot to see whats there.it better then Ebay.as far as I'm concerned that if more product was there, then it would take over Ebays model department.it how I feel.one other thing, where it Ebay or Emodelcars or any other place what stops me is if the seller is wanting to much or more then I'll spend for shipping, cause its part of the price of the model.it how I feel.thanks,Chris
