Dom87SS Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I seen this kit a few weeks ago and it looks nice. Gonna pick it up next time I'm out at the hobby shop.
SuperStockAndy Posted December 27, 2010 Author Posted December 27, 2010 Revell did an AWESOME job on this model. As someone posted here before, they spent $148,000 on the molds. Kudos to Revell for making a great kit!!
SuperStockAndy Posted December 27, 2010 Author Posted December 27, 2010 More progress! I touched up the places on the parts where the sprue was attached with Testors Chrysler Engine Red bottle paint. Thanks for looking!
W-409 Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Looks good so far. These latest pictures aren't the best, but I can see your progress. Engine looks very good so far, keep it going. I like this kit, it's awesome as you said earlier. Can't wait to see more!
SuperStockAndy Posted December 27, 2010 Author Posted December 27, 2010 Thanks! I din't use the tripod for these pics, so they were blurry.
SuperStockAndy Posted December 27, 2010 Author Posted December 27, 2010 Thanks! One thing I love about these funny cars is that you don't have a ton of parts, and then they go together faster. I have some leftover Tamiya TS-18 metallic red paint, that's what I'll paint it with. Yes, it's not exact, but I'm too cheap to buy another can of paint when I have some that looks similar.
SuperStockAndy Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 *Update* Got the chassis finished. (I just have to finish the spark plug wires on the left side) Body Painted Using Tamiya TS 18 Metallic Red. Can was half full when I started. Well, then can started spitting started spitting HOPEFULLY, I will be able to wet sand it out. The camera didn't focus on it very good, but it's really noticeable.
dragmodeler1 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Did you have trouble painting the seatbelts? I'm makin the same model and I'm having a little trouble
SuperStockAndy Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 Thanks guys! Troy, I didn't have any trouble with the seatbelts. I used Testors Chrylser Engine red enamel paint, and brushed it on. After that dried I used a toothpick dipped in Testors silver paint to do the buckles. Hope this helps
