SuperStockAndy Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Took me 5 months to build this. Paint is Tamiya TS-18 Metallic Red. I scratchbuilt an 8 point roll cage, and opened the trunk which reveals a scratchbuilt fuel cell. Thanks for looking!
jphillips1970 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 That is really cool - I like the truck open and the fuel cell - Paint job is great - I can see why it to 5 months to build it takes me longer to build an engine - Great job - Keep building them - Thanks for the pics - Joe
SuperStockAndy Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 (edited) Thank you! If you're wondering what all the black stuff on the chassis is, it's a bad weathering job Edited December 28, 2010 by Android
W-409 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I specially like that engine bay, and that, you removed the inner fenders. I wanted to do that too on mine, but because Nova's front suspension is like that and I had just a little time, I left those inner fender to place. Paintjob looks really good, and color fits to my eye. Chassis doesn't really matter, because no one can see it. If there are some mistakes, who cares. You have opened the trunk very nicely, I did the same thing for '66 "Chevelle" sometime ago...
SuperStockAndy Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 Thanks! Yeah, it's a little rough; The camera shows things that the naked eye doesn't! I tried to make this like a very casual "weekend warrior". I looked at alot of cars at the drag strip for inspiration!
brett Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 That looks really good for someone of your age, keep going like that and you'll look like a pro in a few years
SuperStockAndy Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 Thank you! In a few years I'll be broke because of the prices of models these days
jphillips1970 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I think it's time to fing the 66 Nova in the workshop and start working on it - I think I may try to cut out the trunk like in your kit - That really adds to the kits overall looks - So real you just want to fire it up and hit the street for a bit of fun - A great build !!!!!!!
