truckman1981 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I want to do the interior in the 359 I am working on in the original Pete color of ox blood red. Has anyone came close to duplicating this? I may be could go with the dark tan color also if I had to. I know they also had a ugly blue color and they also had black but my truck will be black so I want to try to break it up a little. Any info would be appreciated. thanks

mackinac359 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 The Ox Blood Red seemed to change a bit over the years - getting lighter as time went on. I use dark red with a little bit of black lightly rubbed over the upholstery. Tim Thanks guys i will try it out.
Mr mopar Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I use Humbrol #20 gloss crimson then with Flat black I dab it with a sponge to get the afx. Then semi gloss after it dryed.
Jim B Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I had pretty good results with the Testors Dark Red.
truckman1981 Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 looks great Jim. Is that brush on or spray can? I had pretty good results with the Testors Dark Red.
Jim B Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 (edited) Thanks. That's Testors Dark Red brush paint on the seats, walls & floor; Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black (X-18) & Brown (X-9) on the dash; the blanket is Tamiya Olive Green (XF-58), and the sheet & pillow are Tamiya Flat White (XF-2). Dash hilights are picked out with Testors Silver & a toothpick. Steering wheel, steering column & shifter are Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black. I think I used BMF on the door latches & window cranks. mountaindewd Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Here is a pic. This is in sunlight. This is true to the actual color comparing the part with the pic on the screen.
