DRG Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 2010 was a bad year for many of us, but here we are on the eve of a New Year. I started back into modeling in 2010 and learned many things from the kind people on this forum. 2011 is the year when I will, hopefully, continue to improve. I might even try BMF this year. I wanted to express my thanks to all of you, you have each inspired me in many ways, taught me many things and set me on a path of improvement in modeling. Happy New Year to all. May it hold the keys to all your dreams.
oldscool Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I discovered this forum in 2010 and it was one of the highlights of the year. The year also saw many great new Revell releases that I now have in the stash. Those are pretty much the only good points of the whole year for me. On the down side, I went through 2 lousy min wage jobs and my like new truck was totalled by a hit and run driver while going to work. That job cost me much more than it was worth. On top of that, the response from the cop was "if you find out who did it let us know" so there was no investigation at all. The area that it happened in is so bad that I am afraid to go looking on my own. Anyway, here's hoping 2011 will be a better year.
davyou5 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I too started out on this forum in 2010, all because I Messed up badly with a Build I wanted to finish on my Birthday , Ah... but it all lead me to great inspiration and to try my hand at it as a Hobby, Now over three months later, I find that I am improving allot, thanks to many here who inspire me. I still have yet to finish Three, one of which I am awaiting more funds to buy the things I need. 2010 was an extremely bad year for me as I was layed off of a job I really liked and worked hard to try and keep. I am still unemployed, and no money coming in, it makes things very difficult, But building models has kept me calm and focused. My Hope for the new year, Is learn more skills and Improve, also that I attain a good source of income.
sobpinstriping Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 No under there...... Under where? I too found this forum earlier this year I haven't built model cars since a little kid so I have learned alot from you fine people! This year is bound to be better, I got a new job this week so life is getting better.
Jon Cole Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 I am hoping for a better year ahead. This year was a bust as far as building goes. I completely lost motivation. Here's to looking for a better future. Happy New Year to my hobby board family!
Guest Johnny Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I start out the New Year looking forwards to more surgery! I will be getting a new left hip to compliment the new right hip I got back in July of '10! Slipped and fell on the ice the other day and the left was bothering me more than usual. So when I had my 6 month appointment for the right hip Thursday he saw the bruise and decided to x-ray the left too! Seems that I have a hairline fracture about half through below the femoral head. But it also showed that there is no cartilige left in the joint and the ball is already getting egg shaped! The pain is no where near as bad as the other hip was but the doctor said no point in waiting until I can barely get out of a chair like I was the last time! But the wife is well enough she is returning to work on Monday and she don't have to have any heart surgery in the forseeable future so things are looking up a bit! Hope everyone has a better 2011!
