Hello. This is something, I have been working on currently. This is Revell Hot Rod series kit. It looks pretty good, opening doors, which fit well right now, but lets have a see how they fit after some parts glued... This kit has nice options, Pontiac Super Duty engine with Blower or Thunderbird engine. Also custom grille and lights etc are included in the kit. I really like this kit. Chrome plating is not the best one, I have seen, but enough for me.

I started from the engine, as usual. Because this kit is molded to blue, engine needed three coats of red, painted with brush of course. I really don't like to put spray gun ready for paint with that small piece. Manifold and some other parts by silver and of course I use that 421 engine with the blower. Now today I installed the spark plug wires, and they are made from Detail Master's wire. It looks pretty good. Still need to do somekind of top on the distributor. And of course lots of more normal work and detailing too.

This kit has pretty good rear tires, and BBS style wheels. Those rear tires are pretty good, only they are glued from two pieces. Now I must try to sand that seam off from them. Front tires are too wide for my idea. They are good for some other car, for rear tires... I started looking for somekind of front wheels, and I found better ones so far from Monogram's box. They are "Good Year Steel Belted Radial" tires, which you can see in many of Monogram kits. They just need bigger size wheel than the rear tires, that is the thing which is little mattering, I don't know, maybe I must find better ones...

Frame is painted by gloss black and interior carpet is matt black. The cab is also sanded and ready for primering, maybe. It was pretty big thing to sand it and frame needed some putty, but anyhow, now the frame is painted and body looks like ready for primering.

Thank you, both! B)

Nostalgic, old school, no bling bling, gassers, lead sleds, etc... Really don't like pro touring cars or something, it's great that we still have people who are building traditional American Cars. That's great! I'm trying to make this one as nice as I can, that means that paintjob must be good and of course, lots of wiring and plumbing. B) Thanks for the feedback!

This is coming together slowly but surely... I had some time for this project last weekend... I started to build chassis. It went together pretty well, specially I liked the way how rear springs fit to chassis. I used the drop axle to the front. It needs still shocks and some brake lines, and other detailing as well. I also glued engine to its place. It wasn't the easiest thing, but gluing the tires and wheels, huh, it was awful. Anyways, it's now pretty good, and wheels are looking good. I put some black wash for them, and tire textes are painted also.

Thank you, Clay!

I have been thinking the color choice for this. Right now, body and interior are the next steps, but I don't know the color of body and I want that interior color matches to the body... Maybe this will be red, but I'm not sure about it, let's have a see.

Looking good, Niko. Did you get the kit when you were here in FLA?

Thank you, Jim! This kit is bought pretty long time ago from Tietonikkari. It's in Helsinki, Finland. From FLA, I bought Jeff Gordon Monte Carlo NASCAR kit, Kenworth W900 and '65 Chevy Pickup kits. Next time, I must take some more bags, so I can buy more models... Now I know, where to find them.

This build has been waiting for long time, but yesterday I was able to do some progress.... I sanded all of the putties from front seat, and painted it with first color. Today I'll be adding some lighter red also. Needs to paint some other interior parts too, stay tuned for more updates. ;)

Thanks, Mark! Next step is of course interior, and engine needs some more detail too. I've been thinking about primering that body, but lets see. I have Pontiac Firebird FC what keeps me busy-I'm trying to finish it in 2011.

Thanks, Dirk! Just noticed, that the paint on that front seat is not completely dry, so needs to wait some more time, before painting another shade of red. Anyway I can continue with painting other intarior parts, and detailing the engine.
