Chuck Most Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 It made no sense...the team couldn't win a game if the temp went below 40 degrees...and they had no tradition...still really don't...... :D Those Lions have traditon! Who else loves seeing them get their trousers pulled down every Thanksgiving? I know it's one of the few pleasures I have on that particular day!
moparmagiclives Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Well, the 2 teams played twice this season. They went 1-1 on the regular season, with the largest margin of victory being 7 points. This game was decided by 7 points. Say whatever you want, but these were two extremely well-matched teams. If you think the Bears "shouldn't have made it that far" but the Packers will "walk away with it" because they are one-touchdown better than the Bears on any given day? Sounds like you should bet on the Steelers. What I was getting at, is that I dont think the Hawks should have taken the Saints out of the playoffs, and had they not, the Bears probly would have not made it to this last weekend...Just my opinion. Seven points might not seem like much, but its a hundred yards to get there. Plenty can "not" happen in those hundred yards..point spreads are for bookies, and I dont gamble, so again, just my opinion.
Modelmartin Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Forgive me if I've said this before, but I must insist... LIONS SUCK!!!! Same record as the Minnesota Vik-queens! 6-10! My wife is a congenital Packer Backer(born and raised in the U.P.) so I have to swing that way which is cool but I like underdogs like Detroit. Vik-queens are just awful ever since thay were bought by that putz from New Jersey! B.F. and Randy Moss and the recently gone Childress are all jerks. What I really look forward to is Tour De France. I watched every day last year! It was exhausting - 3 weeks! Loved it.
Chuck Most Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Hey, Chuck, guess what I heard on ESPN Radio on my way home from work this evening? Matthew Stafford just had shoulder surgery ... You might be keeping that sig for awhile! YES!!!!!!! YOU HEAR THAT, ALL YOU MR. OPTIMISTS!!!!!!!!! ANOTHER SEASON OF MEDIOCRITY!!!!!!!!!! WOOTWOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Harry P. Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 YES!!!!!!! YOU HEAR THAT, ALL YOU MR. OPTIMISTS!!!!!!!!! ANOTHER SEASON OF MEDIOCRITY!!!!!!!!!! WOOTWOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess if you're a Lions fan the bar is set pretty low...
Chuck Most Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I guess if you're a Lions fan the bar is set pretty low... Well, DU-UHHHH! Sheesh, I'm still miffed that the '03 Tigers couldn't even manage to be the worst team ever.
Harry P. Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 Well, DU-UHHHH! Sheesh, I'm still miffed that the '03 Tigers couldn't even manage to be the worst team ever. There's always next season! Never give up the dream!!!
Chuck Most Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 That's how much the Tigers suck. They could have been the worst team E-V-E-R, in history. But they managed to screw THAT up! You know you're a lousy team when you can't even LOSE properly!!!!

Danno Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I call your Lions and raise you ... my team. Go BRONCOS! (Go somewhere.) PS: (Well, at least they got rid of that high school kid that was masquerading as an NFL head coach. ) PPS: (Welcome back, John Elway!!!! There's hope yet! )
moparmagiclives Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 First, there's a reason the Saints were in the game against the (losing record) Seahawks. They spiraled downward as the season drew to a close. You could make the same argument about all the teams that lost in the playoffs..."if they didn't lose the results would have been different!!!" Well, of course. But they did, didn't they? So... You may think "point spreads are for bookies" but I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to see that if 2 football teams play 3 times, and there's exactly 11 points between them over all 3 games combined, they are pretty closely matched. It's not about the betting point spread (which is what you're referring to above, and it is a mistake to think that has anything to do with the actual game results, because it's intended to encourage betting and hedge the house's risk...not predict the actual score) and the final scores of the games. The reality is if you think the Bears would lose to Pittsburgh which you clearly do...well...why would a team that's proven themselves to be only very slightly better than the Bears wouldn't automatically do much better? That's the line of logic I fail to understand. I feel really special that you are paying so much attention to me, I really do, but I dont remember saying anything about the Bears vs the Steelers. And, duh...the results would have been different had any one team done better. That was'nt the point either. I'm pretty sure I clearly said that " I didnt think the Hawks should have beaten the defending champ Saints in the playoffs" of all games, and had they not, the Bears should have had a little tuffer game then what Seattle gave them, and they probly would not of made it to the division champ game..once again just my opinon. But I guess I'll just keep those to myself.
Guest Johnny Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Get real Ken! He was a wuss! He should have manned up and let them shoot his knee full of novacaine laced cortizone like they did in the old days when the player couldn't even feel his leg get ripped off! I mean what the heck, they'll make more! His attitude about it on the sideline is what really brought on the controversay. Looked like he was content being sidelined and that was just wrong! We watched the game at one of the twins homes. One is a Bears fan and the other a Packers fan! I think if they would have bypassed Collins and went straight to the 3rd stringer they just might have come back to win! Looked like he was on his way but just not enough time! I wonder if this is the end for Smith? Gonna be the Packers taking home the big trophy this year!
Chuck Most Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Dan? This spud's for you! BRONCOS SUCK* * The NFL team, not the Ford.
Harry P. Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 Lovie Smith is under contract. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Danno Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Dan? This spud's for you! BRONCOS SUCK* * The NFL team, not the Ford. Well, maybe. But they suck less.
