I'm gonna keep them in here to make things easy on myself. This thread I will be asking how to over come my mistakes on some of these. Some of them I'm just missing some supplies. Some I just got bored with, hope I don't bore you in the same way.Heres the first one.Lowrider Caprice. Now that I have the foil to complete that task, the problem lies on the roof marks.Any ideas on that would be cool. The body is not cleared yet. Also I have no paint of that color left. How do I fix o lords of plastic?001.jpg002.jpg003.jpg004.jpg006.jpg007.jpg008.jpg009.jpg010.jpg

Lookin good though I have no idea how to fix that roof problem.

I've got more stalled projects than I do completed ones.

Frustrating.

Yes Mark, but I'm out of that color.I have seen lowrides with a different color on the roof tho???Hmmmmm Any color suggestions?Besides white, well the interior is white.? Hmmmm

2 options come to mind; the first is bold and not seen on a lowrider, but sand the roof flat and use carbon-fibre, to give the project a complete different twist, that I think could go well with the lowrider theme.

The other one is a bit more common, but you can also vinyl the roof. Give it a bit more classic look it.

An extreme perhaps, but how about a viyl roof made with masking tape? I've done it on a couple of models and it looks fine. Color choice (white, black, etc.) would be up to you. You only need do the top of the roof so no complicated forming around compound curves.

Here's one I did on a yard sale find Toronado glue bomb with a bad roof that I restored. I used 1 1/2" wide tape and created seams where the sides met the center section, just like 1:1.

It would save you a lot of stripping and repainting and should cover those marks up.

Never seen a vinyl roof on a Caprice of this year,I think is a 93 or 94.The Impala chassis is 94.Any pics of one?I'm thinking maybe do in between the door seems.Looks easy enough.?.

those roof marks are just begging for a roof rack! wouldnt really fit the "rider" theme though...but have you thought about another mural on the roof? then again the masking tape vinyl roof is a good standby. i wouldnt want to strip that whole body and have to redo that paint!

First of all it looks as though you are going to have to putty in those divots and then how about doing something like the old style chrome tape stripes? Haven't seen a car with those in quite a while. I would say that or another mural.
